Fudan University, School of Medicine, former Shanghai Medical University, is a famous key medicine university in China, founded in 1927, located in Shanghai, an international big city in China, with its 4000 full-time students, including 1000 postgraduates and 100 foreign students, and 8700 staff, including 1500 professors and associate professors, 211 supervisors of doctorate candidates and 676 tutors of Master's program students.

 
       
       
 
Introduction to Shanghai R-CERTC
 
 

Shanghai Regional Clinical Epidemiology Resource & Training (R-CERTC), sponsored by International Clinical Epidemiology Network (INCLEN), established in 1983, is a strong R-CERTC in China, with responsibility for training high level personal of clinical epidemiology in China, with its 37 staff, including 26 clinical epidemiologists, 3 biostatisticians, 3 health economists and 5 social scientists, among them 11 professor, 13 associate professors and 13 lectures.

There are four teaching groups: Clinical Epidemiology and Critical Appraisal of Scientific Literature(Course coordinate: Professor Fan Weihu), Biostatistics and computer science(coordinator: Professor Zhao Naiqing), Clinical Economics(Coordinator :Mr. Chen Yingyao), and Medical Social Science (Coordinator: Professor Feng Xueshan).

 
       
       
 
Introduction to Master Degree Training Program of Clinical Epidemiology
 
  The Master Degree Training Program of Clinical Epidemiology has started in Shanghai R-CERTC since 1993. Up to now, six cohorts and 28 fellows graduated from this program and got Master Degree of Clinical Epidemiology.

Master Degree courses: clinical epidemiology 132 class hours, biostatistics 117 class hours, computer science 87 class hours, clinical economics 54 class hours, medical social science 54 class hours, literature search 60 class hours, critical appraisal of scientific literature 54 class hours and degree thesis design 60 class hours.

The period of schooling: two and three years. Applying qualification (1) graduated from medical university and with several years experience of residents: (2) age less than 40; (3) health; (4) good English; (5) agree to do clinical epidemiology work in their own university after training.
